The P.L.Y.O.B. combines online learning tools and assessments with a week-long intensive residential program in Melbourne, augmented by business experts, guest speakers, program alumni, and mentors, to provide Defence personnel with the skills they need to successfully transition to civilian life.
His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales is actively engaged in the P.L.Y.O.B. program. Several program participants have corresponded with His Royal Highness and many were able to meet him during His Australian tour in November 2015.
The P.L.Y.O.B. program is supported by an Advisory Council, chaired by His Excellency General The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret’d), the Governor of New South Wales:
→ Rear Admiral Brett Wolski AM – Head People Capability, Australian Defence Force
→ Air Commodore Robert Brown AM – Chairman, A.D.F. Financial Services Consumer Centre
→ Peter Evans – Chairman, Defence in Business
→ Robyn Ritchie – National Convenor, Defence Families Australia
→ Craig Fitzgerald – Director Operations, Aspen Medical
→ Professor David Forbes Ph.D – Director, Phoenix Australia – Centre for Posttraumatic Mental Health
→ Major General Gerard Fogarty AO (Ret’d) – Chief Executive, Defence Health
→ Stephen Koss – Partner, Advisory, E.Y.
→ Sean Farrell – Chief Executive, Bravery Trust
The support, experience and knowledge provided through this program is without question the difference between operating a highly successful business and potentially becoming one of the statistics. This is an opportunity you will not get anywhere else. It’s not just the course learnings – it’s the networks, the personal mentors with decades of business experience, and the support all the way through the program and post-program that really matter.
