2018-2019 YEAR IN REVIEW:
Prince’s Trust Australia is pleased to announce the release of the 2018-2019 Year in Review.
Australians today face a wide array of modern challenges in an increasingly uncertain world – including climate change, demographic change, mental health and the rapidly changing nature of work. More effective action is needed to address these 21st century challenges. Working with partners and learning from best practice, The Prince’s Trust is here to make a positive difference for Australians, by delivering meaningful support to those who need extra help; and by helping our country move forward in a sustainable way.
The focus for the Prince’s Trust Australia during 2018-2019 has been to enhance the capacity to deliver increased tangible impact through programmes focusing on young people, defence force members and their families and sustainable communities. The organisations’ financial performance is strong and with an investment in increased staffing we are already witnessing an increase of our impact in the Australian community.
We are proud of our Prince’s Terraces in Adelaide which was completed in 2017. It won seven industry awards for sustainability in its class category in 2018. We also saw eighty veterans supported in the Enterprise for Veterans workshops and the commencement of a design of the Achieve program for delivery this financial year.
During the 2018-2019 year, under the leadership of our new Chairman Mr John Landerer CBE AM, we appointed new Trustees including The Hon. Julie Bishop, Ms Juliet Rieden and Mr Shaun Bonett. Since April this year we have also appointed a further two Trustees, Mr Karim Sumar and Mr Ian Smith AM. The Board also appointed a new Chief Executive, Mr Christopher John, following the six-year contribution of Mrs Janine Kirk AM.
Over the coming year, the Board will implement a new strategic plan engaging our stakeholders,Patrons, participants and supporters to help us to increase our impact across Australia helping to transform lives and build sustainable communities.
We encourage you to review the report and share this with your friends and family to help us to raise the profile of Prince’s Trust in Australia.
