16 Apr The Prince’s Terrace officially receives prestigious 6 Star Green Star ‘As Built’ accreditation
The Prince’s Trust Australia are delighted to announce that The Prince’s Terrace in Adelaide has officially received the prestigious 6 Star Green Star ‘As Built’ accreditation from the Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA).
The exemplary project had already achieved the residential design Green Star rating upon completion in December 2017. A 6 Star Green Star ‘As Built’ accreditation takes it to the top of the leaderboard as the highest rated Green Star project in South Australia.
The final built form achieved an 84.6 rating from a possible 97 during the first round of assessment, which is a rare and impressive result that we are incredibly proud of.
In summary, the GBCA advised that The Prince’s Terrace was:
- The first 6 Star residential ‘Design’ rated project in Australia
- The first 6 Star ‘Design’ and ‘As Built’ rated project in SA
- The first 6 Star Multi-Unit Residential ‘Design’ and ‘As Built’ project in Australia
- Highest scoring Green Star project in SA (across all rating tools)
The 12 high-quality homes within the development boast 50 per cent less energy and 50 per cent less potable water use than a typical urban townhouse, resulting in a 40% carbon footprint reduction when compared to a standard house. Furthermore, 95% of all waste generated in the build has been recycled.
A list of suppliers who made this possible will be released in the coming weeks as we hope this will act as a benchmark for residential developments across Australia.
Special thanks and congratulations to our project partners The Prince’s Foundation for Building Community, Renewal SA, and Defence Housing Australia.
